Managing Activities

You’ve likely have heard the buzz words “time management,” and perhaps are indifferent to what’s been said about this topic in the past. Interestingly, a vast majority of us squander 40-80% of our time. What does that really mean? Let’s take the hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, for most businesses this is considered to be extremely valuable time. Even if you aren’t a business owner, the same goes for us. These all important hours are really the only time that we have to conduct business, further our careers or professions, and more importantly accomplish what we need to, and make an impact. Only you can decide what impact you are going to make.

You can’t manage time, you get all that there is, but you can manage your activities.

Now, think about this for a moment. What if we just kicked it up a notch or two and stopped worrying about anything except the results? I know we all work hard, I know we all want a life and I know that most of us want to be able to take a step back one day, and work when we want to not because we have to. What if we could accomplish more, in less time, collapse time frames and create a positive impact? Well here is the reality, you can.

You don’t have to slow down, you need to calm down.

When I said that most of us waste a great deal of time, it’s usually not done intentionally. It is likely because we don’t leverage our allotted time in that way that would allow us to accomplish exponentially more, in less time. No matter who you are, your chosen career or profession, if you understand how to develop exceptional proficiencies around what you do, you can realize significantly more movement.

This isn’t a test drive, it’s the real thing!

The following applies to a great many areas, however, it can and will create a measurable difference if you make the irrevocable decision to implement, and then act on it.

  • Every move that you make needs to be productive. In other words, what you are doing needs to propel you in the direction of your objective. If it isn’t, STOP doing it! If you don’t have a goal or strategic objective, you have even larger concerns.
  • Everything you touch needs to be congruent with what you’re predetermined and outline objective is. As a matter of fact, if you achieve complete congruency, you can literally do more than one thing at a time.

Becoming aware of our activities and then taking the necessary steps to align them with our pre-planned outcomes, will certainly produce improved results in less time.
